Norman’s Best Breed

Ends 31st August

Behind every great steak is a breed worth knowing.
From the buttery marbling of Murray Grey to the juicy richness of Hereford, the tenderness of Speckle Park, and the hearty depth of Belmont Red — each breed tells its own story on the plate.

But which one deserves the crown?

The EKKA is here — and so is Norman’s Best Breed!
As Queensland celebrates the best of agriculture at the Brisbane EKKA, we’re proudly joining the festivities by showcasing four outstanding Australian beef breeds.

You’re invited to take part in the Norman’s Best Breed competition — where your tastebuds decide the winner.

How it works:
Each guest receives a tasting plate featuring kebab portions of four breeds:
Murray Grey, Hereford, Speckle Park, and Belmont Red.
Judge each on flavour, tenderness and overall enjoyment, then cast your vote.

What’s in it for you?
Besides enjoying some of the best beef in the country, every voter goes in the draw to WIN a selection of prime beef cuts from the winning breed to the value of  $500.

The Champion Breed:
The winning breed society will receive the Norman’s Best Breed trophy, bragging rights for the year, and headline status as our Beef of the Month for October.

Thank You to Our Partners
A special thanks to JBS and the societies behind these champion breeds:
Murray Grey Beef Cattle Society, Herefords Australia, Speckle Park International, and Belmont Australia.
It’s no small feat organising a line-up like this — and we’re grateful for your support.
